Velvet queen is a popular bridal boutique based on the outskirts of Portsmouth in Hampshire and we are not your average boutique.
We originally opened our doors back in 2017 in an intimate converted office in Havant, where we started out as The Bridal Dressing Rooms. Over time the boutique evolved and became a shop for modern brides looking for a special experience and bridalwear that felt unique and so Velvet queen was born.
Unique Styles
At the Velvet queen we have thrown out the rule book, we see you as the beautiful queen you are and we are ready to dress you in a way that feels authentically you. We have curated an amazing collection of unique bridalwear that is from some of the most talented designers across the world.
We strongly believe that bridalwear shouldn’t have rules and so we strive to offer something a little different to the average boutique.
Special Experience
Getting married is such a special time in your life, it is filled with love and happiness and we want your wedding dress shopping to reflect just how special that time is. So, we are here to celebrate that with you with our extra special Bridal experience; Appointments are in our private Rose Room, you and your bridal team will have exclusive use of the whole shop for the entirety of your appointment and for all our Velvet queens who say yes to the dress will receive our luxe goody bag.
Finishing Touches
Not only can we help you find the perfect bridalwear but we can lavish you in beautiful bridal accessories too. Whether you want to shop for your dress and accessories together or you want to have double the bridal experience and have a separate accessory appointment, we can style you from head to toe.

Our service doesn’t end after you say yes to the dress, in fact it is just where it begins. Once you become a Velvet queen we are here to help you all the way down the aisle. From your try on appointment to accessory appointments and your fittings we are here every step of the way.
